Death of actor and civil rights activist Charlton Heston
Today's news of the death of actor and civil rights activist Charlton Heston reminded me that many have adopted the "No Shrug" policy many years ago. Whether he was marching with Martin Luther King, Jr., leading a labor union, or speaking for gun rights, past president of the NRA Charlton Heston stepped up, said what was right, and was willing to take the heat for it. I'm glad we were able to have him as a guest on Gun Talk Radio a few years ago.
I offer this, and I hope you will read it. It's Mr. Heston's speech to the Harvard Law School Forum on February 16, 1999. It's worth keeping and re-reading once a year. As you read it, you may want to give some consideration to reinforcing your personal "No Shrug" policy.
